چکیده

Abstract Introduction To identify the preoperative factors that influence functional rehabilitation after Major Lower Limb (MLL) amputation. Method This retrospective study analyzed all patients referred post-amputation to an amputee centre over a period of 1 year. The level outcome at 6 and 12 months were recorded using SIGAM (Special Interest Group in Amputee Medicine) grading. Data on various collected for association with outcome. Results A total 71 cases analyzed. mean age was 65.18 (range 24 - 91) years 45 males (63.4 %). Peripheral arterial disease major cause amputation (80.3%). above / through knee 60.6%. Contralateral limb problems present 28.2%. Functional mobility achieved by 38% MLL amputees within rehabilitation, which increased 46.5% months. Pre significant factor good (p-value 0.002). An increasing value BLARt (Blatchford Leicester Allman-Russell Tool) score showed correlation poor Conclusions can be used prediction aid better pre-operative decision making planning.

A walking ability index (WAI) ranging from 1 for a normal gait to 6 for inability to walk was determined for these amputees by clinical grading at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months after prosthesis fitting. Amputees with the below-knee operation had bette...
